‘Akarmaa Designs’ approaches design as a tool of intervention in a system through various functional and contextual parameters that will aid in the sustenance and continuity of the system. Interventions in terms of design vary among graphic, architecture, heritage conservation, landscape and so on; all having a thread in common – thannaram in tamil (roughly translates to ‘morale inner compass‘). Akarmaa also believes in the process of ‘doing’ while constantly reflecting and making efforts to design, restore and build context-sensitive, cost-effective spaces being both responsible to the needs of the user and accountable to the resources consumed.
